The Global Community Art Project

Arran Todd is an artist based in Hull, United Kingdom. His latest work entitled Snow and Lights involves primary school children creating paper snowflakes for a a series of installations. The work is his first conceptual piece and began in March 2011. The idea was to take an artifact from a single group in society and give it meaning. Each snowflake is an individual and a memory. With a total of 28 schools and 10,266 snowflakes from five continents together the snowflakes show how we all have a contribution to make to the world, no matter where we come from or how we live.

Here you can see the video which was projected onto the Ferens Art Gallery, Novemeber 2011 as part of the project.
